I respect your privacy as a visitor to the site, and do not store your data unnecessarily. In this privacy policy you can read which data I collect; why I do so; how I use this data; which other companies are involved in data processing; and what rights you have as a visitor to the site.
Your personal information
When you visit the site I collect only the data mentioned under the heading 'Cookies'.
If you contact me via the contact form, you must enter your name, your e-mail address, and your message, and when sent I will register your IP address. You may also provide me with your telephone number. I only use this information to respond to your message and to prevent spam. I store your e-mails for up to 5 years, in order to be able to refer to them when executing projects for you.
Data processors
I never share your personal information with third parties, except with the companies listed below that operate important parts of The Website. I have entered into a data processor agreement with these companies. These companies use modern technology to keep your data safe. All communication with our data processors is encrypted. Personnel of data processing companies will not get access to your data unless this is absolutely necessary, and in that case is bound to confidentiality.
- Google Ireland Ltd. The data I collect about your browsing habits through Google Analytics cookies are stored and processed by Google.
- Rochen Hosting Ltd. I host The Website, its databases, and part of my email service at Rochen Hosting. The data you share with me via the contact form or by email is stored encrypted by Rochen Hosting.
- Fastmail Pty. Ltd. I host part of my email service at Fastmail. The data you share with me via the contact form or by email is stored encrypted by Fastmail.
- Seotope Ltd. The Website is managed by Seotope, which also performs part of its operations and customer relations services. The data you share with me via the contact form or by email is handled by Seotope.
Your rights
If you live in the European Union, you have the right to inspect, amend and supplement the data I hold about you at any time. You can ask me via the contact form to provide you with your stored data. I try to respond to such a request within 72 hours.
If you live in the European Union, you also have the right to be forgotten. If you want me to delete all data I have collected about you through The Website, please contact me via the contact form. In normal cases I will delete all your data within 72 hours. A backup of your data may be retained for up to 30 days until it is purged as part of my normal data security procedures. The exception to this is if your account is suspected of spam or fraud. In that case I will retain your email address and your IP address for a maximum of 2 years to prevent abuse.
I do not take automatic decisions based on your data that may be to your disadvantage. If you have complaints about the way in which I deal with your privacy or your personal data, I take it seriously. In that case, please contact me via the contact form, and I will try work with you to solve the problem as soon as possible. You always receive an answer from me in case of a complaint.
Last, I point out your right to file a complaint with the relevant data protection authority in your EU country.

The Website uses cookies with different purposes. First, it uses functional cookies to make the site work properly. These can be placed without you explicitly giving permission.
Second, it uses preferences cookies to store your preferences for using the site.
Third, it uses analytical cookies from Google Analytics to understand how The Website is used and how to improve it. These cookies record your IP address, the country and language settings of your browser, your page of origin, and the pages you visit on our website. I only get aggregated access to these data and can not trace them to you personally. Your data is retained by Google Analytics for up to 60 months to study long-term trends.
Changes to the privacy policy
It is possible that I will amend this privacy policy in the future. This could be because I enter into agreements with new data processors, because I offer new services, because I add new functions to the website, or because of relevant legal changes. I advise you to regularly return to this page (www.martijnvulto.com/privacy) to verify that you agree with the privacy policy.
If the changes are small and fall within the scope of the existing privacy policy, then I assume that you accept them with your continued use of the site. In case of substantial changes I will ask you to accept the privacy policy again.
